Handmade Christmas Stuff....

OK, so I have seen all kinds of Christmas trees decorated all different ways to go on the mantle.  I refused to pay $25 each for them, because I wanted 3!  So, we bought some brown paper/cardboard trees at Hobby Lobby, glitter, trim, ribbon, and flower pots (that we spray painted black, and turned upside down), and made our own.  I thought they turned out cute.  Buddy really liked them.  It cost a lot less than $25 each, wink wink.  Tomorrow we go meet to get the girls.  Maybe we can finished decorating the tree, and putting up the rest of the decorations.  Sunday is THE ROCKETTES!!!!  We sooooo can't wait!

Trip To The Cemetery...

Buddy and I went by the cemetery to check on Granny's grave on the way back home Thanksgiving.  I had a complete melt down, because she had nothing on there.  Well of course we couldn't have that!  After I collected myself, we went and got her some Christmas flowers.  Granny's favorite, red and cream poinsettias, berries, and red bird ribbon.  I took them home and made her arrangement.  We went back this morning and fixed it.  It looked so pretty.  I know she would love it, AND the first in her area to have Christmas flowers.  It makes me feel better any way.  She always went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of, so I am going to do a better job on the flowers for her.  She's still my ANGEL!

Thanksgiving @ Paw Paw's 2009

Buddy and I went to Paw Paw's for Thanksgiving this year.  Meagan and Madelyn decided they wanted to go to GA to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa.  We were so tired from the basement clean out, and the house being so destroyed, we didn't feel like traveling.  Plus, we would have to pack up the dogs and their stuff...like having 4 more children, lol.  So, we met Dad at the state line on Tues., and dropped them off.  We really missed them, but we did enjoy getting to spend time with Paw Paw, Tookie, Linda, and Debbie.  It was a nice change of routine.  Thanks for having us!  We really enjoyed it!!!

Happy Birthday Buddy!!!

Yesterday was Buddy's birthday.  It was pretty uneventful (thank goodness).  The girls made him lots of cards, and put a candy bucket together.  They put so much thought into it.  They love and adore him so much.  And of course I am so lucky to have him!  We went and ate @ Outback last night.  It was really yummy.  M & M were pure entertainment.  We had such a good time.  We walked through Costco, and finished wth night with the only thing better than bday cake.....hot KRISPY KREME!!!  So delicious!!!

Lunch with Tookie, Linda, and Paw Paw

Sunday, we ate lunch with Tookie, Linda, and Paw Paw.   There was a special treat in store for the girls.  I couldn't stand it.  I knew what was coming, and am probably MORE excited than they are.  Tookie and Linda got us all tickets to go see the Rockettes for an early Christmas present.  M & M's mouth dropped open.  They couldn't believe it.  Meagans says, "Mom, these tickets are impossible to get!"..... not when you have Aunts with determination.  Maddie was so excited that she had little words, which as you know, is rare for Maddie.  We can't wait to go.  Even Buddy says he thinks he will like it ;-)

Paw Paw's Visit

Paw Paw surprised us with a visit last week.  He came and spent the day with us.  It was so much fun just getting to visit.  We all went and ate @ the Plaza Cafe for lunch.  I think he enjoyed it as much as we did! I LOVED every minute of it!

Working on the basement...

Last week, Buddy took vacation to clean out the basement, so we could actually use it for something other than storage.  We painted the cylinder block walls, and made a living area, craft area, and Buddy's office area.  We had a dumpster delivered last Saturday, and we used every inch of it.  It coming along.  We still have odds and ends we need to do, but its functional, and we LOVE it!  I will take finished pics and post later.  The girls helped so much.  We couldn't have done any of it without them!

Allie's B'day Party

Playing Catch Up!

Ok, so I haven't done so well in the last couple of weeks getting everything posted....so, here is my attempt to catch everyone up.  Allie Bauer had her 4th bday party on Nov. 8th.  We had such a blast.  I can't believe how fast she is growing.  It seems like just yesterday that I was on my way to the hospital to see her after she was born.  I made her this little Christmas shirt and bucket.  I thought it turned out cute.  Still learning on the embroidery machine.  Every little bit of progress is success...lol.

So Crazy Around Here....

Well, I have been a bad blogger lately.  We have been going non stop for the last week or so.  Last week we had Fall Festival at school.  The girls had a lot of fun.  The student council made a jail, and you could pay a $1 to have someone arrested.  Meagan worked the first shift, and of course she had Maddie arrested.  It was so cute.  You had to stay for 5 minutes, or pay $1 bond to leave early.  They had a blast.  My camera decided to play stow-away in Buddy's Jeep-and um, that was in SC, so we were picture-less last week.  This week is  a world wind.  Buddy is on vacation to clean out the basement.  We started on Saturday, and we both can't hardly move.  We have a lot of CRAP!  We are planning on a yard sale this weekend.  Hopefully someone can use a lot of things that brought joy to us (not the crap..lol).  We also got new neighbors!!!  They are so nice, and we are so relieved that most of our drama will end on this street.  Tomorrow, Meagan will be on the Kip Tyner show.  They are doing a short special on the money the student council raised for United Way for Lake View Elementary.  She is so beyond excited.  She got a new outfit out of it, so she is very pleased.  Wish us luck finishing cleaning the basement.  We will post pics when it's done (will that ever happen?)  Have a great week!

Parents Observation Week @ M.A.D. /Ballet Class

Tonight was observation @ ballet class.  M & M did so good.  So proud of them!  And of course, they loved every minute of it.  I hated that Buddy wasn't here to see them.  He would have loved seeing them dance.

Dinner with Bob and Jim!

Buddy's boss' were in town yesterday.  They are doing meetings this week with distributors.  So, we got the pleasure of going to dinner with them @ The Bright Star.  I had been sick all day, and didn't know if I would make it (sinus infection).  But, luckily, I made it to the dance observation and dinner.  Bob and Jim are such characters.  We are truly blessed to be working with them.  They are extended family.  Of course we love these guys!  They are off to LA today, but happily, they will just be gone overnight...yea!  Not sure why these pics didn't turn out too well, but we had a good time anyway.

Parents Observation Week @ M.A.D.

Last night was parent observation @ M.A.D. for M & M's jazz competition class/tap.  They did so good.  It's amazing how much they have learned since just starting last year.  We love the studio and Laurel.  The girls enjoy this activity so much.  I'm glad they find such joy in it.  Buddy and I really loved watching them dance.....
